Notes:
This was a commisioned piece by the Alameda Elementary School on NE 27th and Fremont in Portland Oregon. This Archway is in memorial of their principal Bernard Harvard who sadly passed away in 2007. The design for this piece was inspired by what others had to say about this man. There is a guitar and a tuba depicted becuase he was a musician. I was told that he just loved to play the ABC song for the children so I put all of the notes to the song on the underside of the arch so that when you walk under it and look up to heaven, you can see the music.
